Ana’s Adventures

(A note to my favourite students about what I have been doing since I left beautiful Thailand)

Hello former students!

Some of you are curious about what I have been doing since our time together. The answer is that I have been having many adventures and travels.

I have been very busy since I left Thailand!

When I left Thailand, I did not go straight back to Canada. I went to the UK and Ireland for a tour.  First I went to Scotland, where I stayed in Edinburgh and saw many castles and the Loch Ness. From there to Ireland, where I stayed in Dublin, drank Cider in a Pub  and took a tour to the ‘Cliffs of Moher’ & then off to England. When I returned back to Canada I did not go back to my home in Vancouver British Columbia, Canada. Instead I first went to Toronto, Canada - where I grew up with my Mother. I stayed for a while, saying hello to friends and family that I had not seen in many years. After visiting Ontario, I headed to see my Father and siblings where it was very cold and snowy, in Alberta Canada. I stayed there for a while and lived with my daughter and dog in my sisters home. When I returned to British Columbia I rented a big house not too far from Vancouver and began to teach ESL English again, mostly to Japanese and Korean students. I enjoyed my job, but it did not last long because I met a very special man who asked me to marry him! And of course, I said yes. We married two times - once in British Columbia with close friends, and again on my fathers farm in Alberta with family. And then we went travelling together!

My husband had not travelled outside of North America before, so I was very excited to show him some parts of the world. We went to Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Belgium, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, France, Switzerland, and back to England, Ireland, Scotland and then Wales. It was an awesome experience, a fantastic tour! I took 6,000 pictures along the way! You can look at some HERE. I took 6,500 photos of beautiful Thailand while I was there, too.

When we finally returned to Canada, we bought a ‘floating home’ on the Fraser River, in British Columbia Canada, where we now live. We got a new tiny dog, a brother for Jack (the dog I took with me to Thailand). His name is Jimmy. I am teaching English privately again but my favourite memories of teaching will always be of the year I spent with my students in Thailand!

I learned a lot from Thailand and my fantastic students. I miss you all very much!!

Hope you all are happy, healthy and successful!
